Statement

Underlying my work is the idea that the self and the other are separate yet inseparable. Through my expression, I aim to convey the depth of empathy and connection.

In particular, we ask, “What is the essence of attachment?” Where is the boundary between self and other?” The focus is on questions such as “What is the nature of attachment?

These questions are the driving force behind my ongoing exploration of the diversity and unity of existence.

In my creative process, I use acrylic and oil paints as well as everyday materials such as fabric and clay, valuing the joy of creation itself. By allowing the process to unfold freely, without a final form in mind, I discover unexpected surprises and moments of inspiration. This act of “making” itself is an essential element of my artistic expression.

Furthermore, the Japanese mythology and natural environment that I encountered in my childhood deeply influence the themes of my work. I feel that even the smallest, most ordinary objects and events are imbued with a sense of life, and I strive to capture this richness, pure wonder, and sense of liberation in my work.

Through my work, I hope that viewers will be inspired to embrace the freedom and richness of life and to regain a sense of honestly cherishing the things they love.
